Kasandra Keeling

Kasandra Keeling is currently Associate Professor of Piano and Chair of the Keyboard Area at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She holds the BM and MM in performance from the University of Houston and the DMA in performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her principal teachers were Janice Hodges, Nancy Weems, Alvin Chow and Larry Graham.

Ms. Keeling has performed in the U.S., Mexico and Canada and in the summer of 2007 was a visiting professor of piano at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and at the Conservatory of Music at Nanjing Normal University in Nanjing, China. She is active as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestra soloist and clinician and has given multiple sessions and lecture-recitals at state conventions, as well as at the Music Teachers National Conference. Under her instruction, her past students have been top prizewinners at competitions such as the Corpus Christi Young Artist Competition, the national level of the MTNA Young Artist Competition, the Texas Music Teachers Association Young Artist Performance Contests and several other regional and local contests. Her students have also been accepted to top graduate programs at prestigious music schools across the nation. Formerly on the faculty at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Dr. Keeling currently resides in San Antonio with her husband and two children.
